'Triumphator' - Longiflorium/Oriental Hybrid
Lily Bulb Description
Fragrant. 3 to 4 Feet. July Flowering.
From the latin triumphus, meaning a triumphal procession or celebration of victory, ‘Triumphator’ certainly is a victory in the pursuits of breeding excellence. Unlike the days of Rome though, you will not need to offer sacrifice at the alter of Jupiter following planting, just stand back and marvel at the parade of victory in your garden as ‘Triumphator’ comes into bloom.
A lovely blending of L. longiflorum (Easter Lily) crossed with Oriental lilies, this amazing clone has the classic shape of the Easter Lily species, but heavy flower texture and disposition of an Oriental lily bulb. The first of its kind, 'Triumphator' has yet to meet a worthy challenger in others of similar breeding. 'Triumphator' carries a lighter scent than do pure oriental hybrids. The flower centers are deep pink, almost maroon in our cool northwest climate. Planting in bright shade in warmer areas will help deepen the color, but staking may be required if the stems begin to lean towards the sun. 3 to 4 feet. July Flowering. Fragrant.
Bulb Size - Our standard for bulbs of this lily cultivar ranges from Premium-size (16/18 cm) to Exhibition-size (over 20 cm). Click here for details.
Classification: Oriental Hybrid Lily Bulb (USDA Zones 4-10, colder climates w/winter mulch.)
